1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Needr collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Needr mobile app, website, waitlist, and related services. It applies to account registration, public profiles, requests, feed content, messages, notifications, moderation workflows, and waitlist signups submitted through getneedrapp.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account and profile information: name, email address, username, country, profile photo, banner image, bio, public profile link, and the sign-in method you use, including Google Sign-In where applicable.
- Onboarding and preference data: skills, referral categories, feed interests, notification preferences, privacy settings, and account status information needed to operate the service safely.
- Content you create: posts, requests, request responses, referrals, comments, media attachments, ratings, bookmarks, reports, and other content you submit in the app.
- Communications: direct messages, in-app notifications, push notification metadata, and support or moderation correspondence.
- Location information: country and other location information you provide, plus approximate or precise device location if you grant that permission in the app.
- Device and usage information: app activity, crash and diagnostic information, device tokens used for push notifications, and website analytics signals used to understand visits and improve performance.
- Waitlist information: if you join the waitlist on our website, we collect the name, email, country, and interests you submit so we can manage the waitlist and send related emails.
3. How We Use Information
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and support login methods such as email/password and Google Sign-In.
- Operate the core Needr experience, including live requests, feed ranking, referrals, discovery, public profiles, and messaging.
- Personalize results using information such as skills, referral categories, interests, location, and trust signals.
- Send transactional communications, service updates, security notices, push notifications, and waitlist emails.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, illegal activity, and policy violations.
- Enforce our Terms, moderate content, suspend or terminate accounts where necessary, and preserve limited enforcement records where appropriate.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Needr, including through diagnostics, analytics, and service performance monitoring.
4. When Information Is Visible to Others
Needr includes public and user-facing features. Depending on how you use the app, other users may be able to see your username, profile photo, banner, bio, profile link, public requests, public posts, comments, responses, referral activity, and other profile details you choose to make available. Direct messages are intended for the participants in that conversation.
5. How We Share Information
- With other users: when your profile, content, requests, responses, or activity are part of the app experience.
- With service providers: we use third-party providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, website analytics, and push notifications that process data on our behalf.
- For legal and safety reasons: where required by law, legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect users, Needr, or the public.
- In a business transfer: if Needr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
We do not sell personal information as part of the ordinary operation of Needr.
6. Retention, Deletion, and Account Status
- We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain your account, support safety and moderation, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
- If you delete your account, we aim to delete or de-identify associated user data, subject to limited retention for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, backups, or enforcement records.
- If an account is suspended, some account data may be retained while access is restricted and some content may be hidden from the app until the account is restored.
- If an account is terminated for policy or safety reasons, Needr may retain limited records necessary to enforce that termination, protect the platform, and prevent repeat abuse.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- You can update many profile details and notification settings from within the app.
- You can request account deletion from within the app where available, and you may also contact us about privacy requests.
- You can control device permissions such as location and notifications through your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, or to object to certain processing.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
